who were left to helplessly watch their fellow firefighters die in the warehouse fire that claimed 9 lives.
I don't think the Firefighters and EMS workers are given fair recognition for the job they do and the continual dangers they face. My hats off to all of them
I have been a level 2 Firefighter/Paramedic for 13 years and I have seen a lot of people come and go. It is a hard prfession and worth every smile that you see on the faces of those you help. I encourage anyone with some extra time to get in touch with thier local department and see what they can do to help. You do not need to be a firefighter or EMT, there is a lot of clerical work and fundraising work that also needs to be done and every single person is needed.

I am a mom of 4 kids. My twin boys are 2.5, I have a boy who is 1.5 and a newborn baby girl. I started out my life in the DC area, attended PG County public schools (survived to talk about it) and Graduated from UMD with a BS in Nursing. I moved west for a quieter, safer life with my family and I do not regret the move, but I miss the hustle and bustle of DC life. Luckily it is only about 40 minutes from here to Gaithersburg...even though most DC people seem to think that WV is worlds away.
