who were left to helplessly watch their fellow firefighters die in the warehouse fire that claimed 9 lives.

I don't think the Firefighters and EMS workers are given fair recognition for the job they do and the continual dangers they face. My hats off to all of them

I have been a level 2 Firefighter/Paramedic for 13 years and I have seen a lot of people come and go. It is a hard prfession and worth every smile that you see on the faces of those you help. I encourage anyone with some extra time to get in touch with thier local department and see what they can do to help. You do not need to be a firefighter or EMT, there is a lot of clerical work and fundraising work that also needs to be done and every single person is needed.

p>Sorry I haven't been around much.. the kids want to play outside and since I don't care for them to spend the day watching TV I take them out every chance I get.

Hope you are all well.

May God bless their souls. They are heroes who ask for nothing in return!

We are in TOTAL AGREEMENT. These guys answered their last call for service without hesitation and are true heroes.

I heard about this tragedy and have thought about it many times today. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of each heroic firefighter. Their job is so very dangerous and sometimes a toll is taken.

P.S. Hats off to you, Jen, for taking your children outside. It's so much easier to let the television babysit them and that's what many parents do (unfortunately).

Jen, you have no idea how bad I feel for those guys. It always hurts when one of ours goes down in the line of duty. I am a retired EMT, are you still running rescue/fire calls?

God Bless their souls and give their families the grace to bear this tremendous loss! May they rest in peace!

I am a mom of 4 kids. My twin boys are 2.5, I have a boy who is 1.5 and a newborn baby girl. I started out my life in the DC area, attended PG County public schools (survived to talk about it) and Graduated from UMD with a BS in Nursing. I moved west for a quieter, safer life with my family and I do not regret the move, but I miss the hustle and bustle of DC life. Luckily it is only about 40 minutes from here to Gaithersburg...even though most DC people seem to think that WV is worlds away.
